Rodrigo y Gabriela: Tenth Anniversary Tour @ Count Basie Theatre | Red Bank | New Jersey | United States

Internationally acclaimed Mexican acoustic rock guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela are back on the road again, bringing their unique instrumental blend of metal, jazz and world music to audiences all over the US. They have been playing together for more than fifteen years. First as young thrash metal fans in their native Mexico City, then as innocents abroad and street musicians in Dublin, Ireland at the turn of the millennium, and finally as the globe-straddling, film-scoring, record-breaking artists they are today.

Known for exhilarating live shows, Rodrigo y Gabriela have won the hearts of music lovers from the haciendas of Cuba to the Hollywood Bowl and festival fields of Europe, as they continue to weave their unique six-string magic. The extraordinary interplay between Sanchez’s fiery lead lines and Quintero’s phenomenal rhythmic battery is truly universal.

Puddles Pity Party @ Count Basie Theatre
Nov 15 @ 8:30 pm
Puddles Pity Party @ Count Basie Theatre | Red Bank | New Jersey | United States

A 7-foot clown walks into a bar. He motions for a soda water and sits there staring at his drink. The year was 1998 and Puddles had wandered into the Star Community Bar in Atlanta, GA where bartender Big Mike Geier first laid eyes on the sad, silent clown. Today the two close friends travel all over with Puddles Pity Party, Mike speaking on behalf of Puddles since the clown chooses to stay silent.

The softhearted crooner continues to wander the world with melancholic pop anthems and free hugs for all the party people. Though his suitcase is packed with plenty of Kleenex, the show is not entirely about sadness and longing. Puddles’ set is peppered with a brilliant sense of the absurd, mixing lots of humor with the awkward, tender moments.

Squeeze @ Count Basie Theatre | Red Bank | New Jersey | United States

Squeeze first formed in 1973, shortly after Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook had begun their songwriting partnership. By 1977 they had made their recording debut and enjoyed a string of hits. Over the years there have been solo careers and occasional separations, but the Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriting duo Chris and Glenn reunited ten years ago to relaunch Squeeze and have been touring, writing and recording together since.

2015 saw the release of the critically acclaimed ‘Cradle to the Grave’ which was written as a soundtrack to Danny Baker’s BBC TV sitcom ‘Cradle To Grave’ (starring Peter Kay). The band has long been a captivating live act, and in 2016 they triumphed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury with The Guardian saying they “[went] down a storm… Squeeze’s success is a pretty infectious thing”.
