Warren Chiasson, vibraphonist, author, teacher, is a highly regarded musician in the jazz world who has been called “one of the six top vibraphonists of the last half century” by the New York Times. Originally a member of the George Shearing Quintet, he has emerged as his own man with a distinctive four-mallet technique that he weaves into a percussive, melodic style.
Today, Warren will be joined by guitarist Gene Bertoncini to celebrate the music of Guitarist Chuck Wayne, one of the first jazz guitarists to play in the bebop style, later developing definitive systematic method still followed today. Chuck and Warren were part of the George Shearing Quintet and made the “Point Counerpoint” album together.
Concert is free for all to attend. Entrance doors open at 12:30pm. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We request that attendees do not hold or reserve seats for others. Library staff reserves a number of seats for a limited time before performance.
