Come see “The Bridge of San Luis Ray” by Thornton Wilder winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, based on his classic novel. This quiet masterpiece—a dazzling rumination on the nature of love—will be brought to life on stage by a troupe of actors led by one of the singular figures in the American theater: writer and actor David Greenspan, the winner of five Obie Awards.
Best of the Eagles (BOTE) was established in 2012 by guitarist/vocalist Joe Vadala and a group of professional New Jersey musicians who individually have an auspicious pedigree, are passionate about their love of the Eagles music and who have all worked with numerous national touring artists. BOTE is the most exact interpretation of the music of the Eagles in America bar none! Each member mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally.
However, this is no simple copy band or impersonator act but rather a group of excellent musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs, the music, the vocals and the magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. After selling out many venues in the region including the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University, BOTE look forward to sharing a great night of Eagles hits, fan faves, nuggets and memories in their very first appearance at the legendary Count Basie Theatre!
Wailin’ refers to perfect harmonies, and that is one thing all will agree upon after listening to this magical Canadian female trio. The Wailin’ Jennys’ performance of Celtic influenced folk-pop music, with haunting vocal harmonies masterfully woven with beautiful instrumentals, will keep you spellbound.
The Wailin Jennys are Nicky Mehta, Ruth Moody and Heather Masse three distinct voices that together make an achingly perfect vocal sound.
Although known primarily as an acoustic outfit, The Wailin’ Jennys have a diverse musical background that has shaped their musical sensibilities. Soprano Ruth Moody (vocals, guitar, accordion, banjo, bodhrán) is a classically trained vocalist and pianist with a burgeoning solo career. Mezzo Nicky Mehta (vocals, guitar, harmonica, drums, ukulele), a classically trained dancer raised on ’70s a.m. radio and heavily influenced by alternative pop, was nominated for a Canadian Indie Music Award for her striking debut solo album, 2002’s Weather Vane. Alto Heather Masse (vocals, upright bass) is a Jazz Voice graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, who has performed in Mark O’Connor’s Hot Swing, Darol Anger’s Republic of Strings and is a regular guest on A Prairie Home Companion.
