Mr. RAY brings flavor and funk in his interactive children’s show for ages 2-6. Children around New Jersey continue to grow up with his original favorites like Ellie the Elephant, ROY G BIV and Boo Boos Go Away as well as rockin’ renditions of primary school and adult favorites.  From Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds to Woody Guthrie’s classic This Land is Your Land, expect kids to dance, clap, and wiggle about.  mr. RAY’s show engages kids’ minds and bodies leaving them inspired to be kind to everyone, to create and dream, and to stay healthy and active.

Diamond Dallas Page is a game changer, entrepreneur, best-selling author, fitness guru and a WWE Hall of Famer. He speaks around the globe on topics such as adaptability, accountability, work ethic, creating change, long-term vision and owning your internal dialogue.

Instructor, Gayle Stahlhuth, artistic director of East Lynne Theater Company, uses writing and simple acting exercises to trigger the writer’s imagination. The workshop is geared for those who have written plays, as well as those who have always wanted to try their hand at writing a play. Participants are encouraged to create short plays during the workshop.

Aside from performing, directing, and producing, Stahlhuth is also a produced playwright, who has received writing commissions from The Smithsonian Institution, Theatreworks/USA and The Illinois and Missouri Humanities Councils, and grants from The New Jersey Humanities Council.  Her plays have been performed at such places as the NYC International Fringe Festival, The Samuel French One-Act Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club, Arvada Center in Denver, the Pennsylvania Stage Company, the Phoenix Theater in Indianapolis, and the Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company, located in Cape May. She has taught playwriting to a variety of ages throughout the country at theaters, universities, libraries, public schools, and writing conferences. For several years, Gayle was a popular workshop leader at the now-disbanded North Wildwood Beach Writer’s Conference.

The spring production of the Department of Music and Theatre is Steel Magnolias, the touching comedy-drama by Robert Harling, directed by Dr. John Burke. The play visits six Louisiana women delicate as magnolia flowers, but tough as steel when they must be – as they gather in their small-town beauty parlor to gossip, complain, and share the joys and sorrows they face in their lives. Despite differences in age, backgrounds, and attitudes, their camaraderie and sense of humor help them grow through good times and bad.

Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir, bassist Don Was and drummer Jay Lane under the moniker Bob Weir and Wolf Bros will explore songs of the Grateful Dead and more in a trio setting.

Bob Weir is one of the founding members of the legendary Grateful Dead, which received a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. The band has also appeared on Forbes’ list of top-grossing entertainers and in the early ‘90s were the highest-grossing concert attraction in the U.S. Since establishing the band in 1965, Weir has become one of rock’s finest and most distinctive rhythm guitarists. He is currently a member of Dead & Company which features Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with GRAMMY-winner John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.

Jay Lane is a founding member of Weir’s longtime band RatDog. The drummer also toured with Furthur for a brief stint and performed with Bobby and Rob Wasserman as part of Scaring The Children. Was introduced Weir and Mickey Hart to John Mayer, which eventually led to the formation of Dead & Company.

“Wolf Bros is something that really took its roots back in the spring of 2015 when Don Was came up to TRI and helped us piece together Dead & Company,” Bob Weir said of the new project in a statement. “For a while now I’ve been itchin’ to explore our songs in a trio setting. An upright bass, my acoustic or electric guitar and a drummer. We did some rehearsals this past spring and it was big fun—and that’s the whole idea. We were kickin’ around Dead songs as well as tunes from my back pages. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna have a big adventure with this…”

Adults are invited to join a Park System Naturalist for this laid-back morning bird walk at Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck. Meet in the Athletic Field parking area. We’ll meander for about 1.5 hours and see what birds we can find. No need to be an expert at identifying birds to enjoy this walk. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow if needed. FREE!

The Pub Crawl will take place in Downtown Freehold on March 14th. This event will stop at some of the most popular pubs in the town. These include The American Hotel, Federici’s, Court Jester, and Metropolitan Café. There will be bagpipers throughout the places, and guests can choose to participate in either a Beer Crawl or Scotch Crawl. Prices will vary depending on which one participates in. Tickets can be found online and guests must show ID.
