From Wounded Knee to the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Marked, Unmarked, Remembered presents photographs by Andrew Lichtenstein of significant sites from U.S. history, posing unsettling questions about the contested memory of traumatic episodes from the nations past. Focusing especially on landscapes related to African American, Native American and labor history, Lichtenstein reveals new vistas of officially commemorated sites, sites that are neglected or obscured, and sites that serve as a gathering place for active rituals of organized memory. It’s a party. It’s a concert. It’s a pint-filled good time set in a working pub (free beer anyone?) that combines hair-raising harmonies, high-energy dance, and live percussion with foot-stomping choreography. The multi-talented cast of nine handsome blokes sings everything – pub tunes, folk, Broadway, classic rock – all to roof-raising heights. It’s the best singing, dancing, stomping, pub crawl of a concert you’ll ever attend! CHEERS!
America’s journey has found them exploring a wide variety of musical terrain. Their best-known tunes, which also include “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970’s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Yet beyond their impressive catalog of hits, listeners would discover there was always much more to America than surface perceptions. The combination of Gerry Beckley’s melodic pop rock and Dewey Bunnell’s use of folk-jazz elements, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with Dan Peek’s more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics.
Develop your visual voice, hone your perceptual skills, and print your own, fine art black and white prints during this 3-day workshop. You will use the examples and discussions of Master Printer Michael S. Miller as the basis for the development of your own personal approach to black and and white photography and print making. Designed for photographers with a working knowledge of their camera, computer, Lightroom and have a portfolio of images to develop into fine art prints.

Our Spring Jazz series is to create pride in our Black heritage and promote family values and unity in Atlantic County by educating and exposing our youth, the community and tourists to the original American art form of jazz. This allows us to also celebrate the rich and dynamic African-American history during the era of Chicken Bone Beach.

Glen Burtnik brings you the Summer of Love Concert. This Concert focuses on iconic rock music from the period of time generally between the 1967 release of The Beatles revolutionary album Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and the famous Woodstock Music and Art Festival in 1969.
Joined by 12 or more performers including a horn section, strings, keyboardists, percussionists, background vocalists and an incredible rock rhythm section, the Summer of Love Experience recreates “note for note and absolutely live” the songs, and the psychedelically flavored spirit, of the Woodstock Generation.
The Summer of Love Concert includes music from artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Santana, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Jefferson Airplane, The Association, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, Scott McKenzie, Mamas and the Papas, Country Joe, Ravi Shankar, Procol Harum, Joe Cocker, Melanie, The Spencer Davis Group, Cream, The Youngbloods, and many more nuggets and surprises! The songs run the gamut from the psychedelic songs to rockin’ album tracks to a sprinkling of now hip Top 40 pop from that era. Jean Mikle, feature writer for the Asbury Park Press and Pulitzer Prize finalist, writes “The Summer of Love Concert, led by Glen Burtnik… was, for me, one of the highlights of this year’s concert going experience…..and……..I go to a LOT of shows.”
