Yoga Nidra translates as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness. Lucid sleeping is among the deepest possible states of full body relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness in a deep meditative state. It is equivalent to a 3 hour nap. (Of course, we do fall asleep sometimes…no worries!) The practice of yoga relaxation has been found to reduce tension and anxiety and bring clarity. You will be lying in savasana (corpse pose) during the entire time (about 40 minutes), after making yourself very comfortable. During yoga nidra, I will give directions that include preparation, choosing a resolve or intention, rotation of consciousness, awareness of the breath, awareness of feelings and sensations, visualization, and conclusion.
I have everything you will need… mats, blankets, eye pillows and perhaps a bolster under the knees to take the stress off the lower back. If there is something special you would like to bring for your personal comfort, please do.
You will leave feeling both relaxed and energized!
The cost is $7 per session. Please feel free to bring new people along…all are welcome: )

When nine-year old Elmer Elevator hears about a baby dragon who is held captive by the ferocious animals of Wild Island, he sets off on an adventure to rescue the dragon and return him home. With the help of his friend the Alley Cat, Elmer packs everything he thinks he’ll need – including chewing gum, two-dozen lollipops, seven hair ribbons and a box of rubber bands! With pluck and ingenuity Elmer makes his way to the Island, outwits the wild animals and saves Boris, the dragon. But can they find their way back home? As they travel over the ocean they get lost in a storm and discover a magical island of escaped canaries. The resourceful Elmer helps the canaries overcome their “curiosity disease” and uncover a stash of hidden riches. With bags of gold and the canaries’ blessings, the dauntless duo at last returns home.
