On the beach at Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood, NJ and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Event begins on Friday at noon with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Festivities following include opening of the kite sales tent, a Friday night social via the local kite club and the 9 p.m. illuminated kite fly. Saturday includes the silent and loud auctions (open to all) and Saturday and Sunday include the flying of large inflatable kites, sport kite demo’s, team flying as well as family games. Monday features the World Indoor Kite competition inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. FREE to spectators.
The Senior Club is an exciting group where seniors can socialize, explore new interests, and enjoy a variety of activities. The group meets every Monday from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. This juried exhibition will feature works of art that employ spectacle, symbolism and collective participation to fight for issues of social justice including racial discrimination, gender equality, fair labor practices, human rights and more. Join the fun at Bayshore Waterfront Park, Port Monmouth, this derby requires participants to supply their own fishing poles, tackle and bait. Prizes are awarded for the longest fish caught in three different age categories, see derby rules for more information. Only fishing from the beach is allowed.
