Jersey Central Power and Light is working this summer and through the end of the year to enhance its electric system in and around the Jersey Shore and beyond.

The power company is doing close to $400-million dollars in infrastructure projects around the state this year.  JCP&L says the proactive upgrades help minimize the duration and frequency of outages.

The improvements include the completion of a transmission project from a substation in Englishtown to one in Manalapan.  The project benefits customers in Monmouth County. Their projects also include starting construction on a new transmission line from a substation in Howell to one in Neptune.  JCP&L is also completing flood protection measures  and installing monitoring devices at 19 substations.  This is especially important for our ShoreTV New Jersey friends along the coast!
