There is probably no single race more famous than The Benihana Offshore Grand Prix. This race was known as the Indy 500 of Offshore Racing and was held in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, during the 1970’s. The New Jersey Offshore Powerboat Racing Association has been the host club since racing started in Point Pleasant Beach some 40+ years ago. NJ Offshore (NJOPRA) is still a very active club with over 100 members and has kept the tradition of Offshore Racing alive on the Jersey Shore for all those years.

Just because it’s winter time doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the beach! The winter months are some of the best times to go shell collecting. Take a guided walk with a Park System Naturalist along the beach, collecting and identifying some of the ocean’s natural treasures. Make sure you dress in warm clothing and bring along something to carry shells in. Meet on the beach.

Experience an early spring sunset without the summer crowds at the Belmar Marina. We will meander from the Belmar Arts Center along the Shark River Promenade to the end of Pier 9 to enjoy a peaceful sunset of “the hills”. Every sunset is unique and beautiful with it’s long shadows and soft light. Designed as a fun, foto evening where you can practice and improve your photography skills, move beyond taking just another pretty snapshot and develop your creative eye. Michael will guide you with suggestions on composition, perspective, and externalizing your mind’s eye.
Pre-registration is requested even if you are a member so we have an idea of many to expect. Join Michael & Beverly Federico’s for a relaxing, pay your own way meal and conversation afterwards. Federico’s is BYOB.
No charge BAC member benefit/$20 non-members
