Come to Rumson County Day School to get training in a course designed to help young people with mental health issues. Traning will take place over two days, the first being Monday, March 5th AND Tuesday, March 6th.
“Young Mental Health First Aid” is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
The Cuba Today exhibition brings together a diverse group of photographers whose journeys have taken them from Santiago De Cuba and Guantanamo in the east to Camaguey, Trinidad, Santa Clara, and Havana in the west. Their work offers us an opportunity to see Cuba with new eyes. Their images are a testament to richness of the Cuban peoples heritage, culture, history, diversity, and ingenuity as well as the Cuban government’s reminders of their revolution and the U.S. Trade Embargo. The twelve artists in the exhibition are Barbara Berger Brill, Cyndie Burkhardt, Constance Sterling-Engman, Jan Kounitz, Marsha Michel, Mansa K. Mussa, Nancy Orl, Franc Palaia, Karen Rossen, Jay Seldin, Heidi Sussman, and Peter Tilgner.

We will meander from the Belmar Arts Center along the Shark River Promenade to the end of Pier 9 to enjoy a peaceful sunset of “the hills”. Every sunset is unique and beautiful with it’s long shadows and soft light. Designed as a fun, foto evening where you can practice and improve your photography skills, move beyond taking just another pretty snapshot and develop your creative eye. Michael will guide you with suggestions on composition, perspective, and externalizing your mind’s eye.

Park Gates will open at 5:30 am; service will start at 6 am and either be held within the Historic Chapel or outside at the Gazebo. The event is FREE and OPEN TO ALL! Donations would be very appreciated to help fund the final phase of exterior painting and floor renewal at the Historic Chapel at Allaire.
Welcome to a new season at Fosterfields! Say hello to the farm animals, help with chores, tour the Foster home, The Willows, enjoy unique programs, and explore the interactive Transportation Exhibit. Admission to the farm and The Willows is $6 per adult, $5 per senior (65+), $4 per child age 4 – 16, and $2 per child age 2 & 3. FREE per child 2 & under, and Friends of Fosterfields and Cooper Mill members with a current membership card. Special event fees may apply to certain programs.
Come to Wall, NJ this April to assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy, which destroyed 346,000 homes and $30 billion worth of damage in New Jersey alone. Lodging will be at the historic Camp Evans, now a site dedicated to volunteer housing.
The $135 housing fee includes lodging from Thursday April 5th to Sunday, April 8th and includes breakfast costs, a group pizza dinner on Friday night, logistical costs of the event manager, and a small donation to the One Brick Scholarship fund.
Come to the Asbury Park Convention Hall this April on one of Jersey’s most historic boardwalks for the Inaugural Catsbury Park Cat Convention! The two day event will bring together cat lovers and some of social media’s favorite felines alike! Informative sessions and seminars will be held by respected advocates and speakers on behalf of cat rescue, health and behavior, and cat related products plus innovative merchandise will be available to purchase from vendors.
Fun games like Cat Trivia, Cat Bingo, and the Cat Art show will be available for children 12 and under at the Convention Hall. However, tickets to these events MUST be purchased separately.

Come to Neptune this April to help or support “heroes on the water”.”H.O.W. are looking for a few good men and women to help us organize there trailer’s. They have added a lot more kayaks, fishing gear and other equipment the past couple years and they’ll be using this time to come up with a design/layout to keep everything organized.
The event is open to both veterans and volunteers.

Come join Family Based Services for this FREE workshop in Eatontown, New Jersey this April. THe deadline to register though is April 19th,at 4PM, one hour before the start of the shop, so make sure you register online!
Many families have difficulty accessing health coverage and services for children with special health care needs. This workshop will provide information about the various insurance models- who is eligible, what is covered and how to apply. Information on the benefits of the Affordable Care Act will also be provided. Suggestions on what to do if you are having difficulty accessing health care srvices will be offered.
