Join us on April 14th for the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Tech Fest 8! All proceeds will benefit the Dennis Bourke Hopes and Dreams Scholarship Fund.
Presented by the Performing Arts Academy (PAA) Tech Club, Tech Fest is Ocean County’s number one student run music festival. Come listen to a wide variety of music preformed by 20 bands and artists from the tri-state area as they perform on two stages managed by the students of OCVTS.
Get your tickets for $10 at the door and gain access to a day of great music and fun. Artists range from your favorite local bands to emerging artists from the Performing Arts Academy. Don’t miss out on a variety of art displayed by regional artists, delicious food, and a chance to win awesome prizes.
The Dennis Bourke Hopes and Dreams Scholarship, named after Dennis Bourke, the founder of the OCVTS Audio for Electronic Media program, is designed to give two graduating seniors from OCVTS an advancement in the technical field.

The Asbury Park Half Marathon starts and finishes in Asbury Park and runs through the iconic Jersey Shore towns or Interlaken, Allenhurst, Deal, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach and Avon by the Sea.
Run The Jersey Shore on April 21, 2018 to benefit Special Olympics of New Jersey and the Jersey Shore Dream Center.
The Asbury Park Half Marathon and Jersey Shore 5K will start at 8:30 am on Ocean Avenue in front of Convention Hall in Asbury Park.
The Jersey Shore Relay will have a staggered start in Seaside Heights.
In the interest of runner and volunteer safety, there will be a 5 hour and 30 minute cutoff time for all teams. Runners/Teams that do not pass relay transition areas by the below times will be instructed to leave the course and, if needed, transportation to the finish will be provided. If runners choose to proceed after being instructed to leave the course it will be at their own risk, support may not be available along the way and they will not be scored.
Come to the Historic Village at Allaire in Wall Township this April, for an event that will showcase all that there is to love about dogs! Various forms of entertainment will be there including shopping, games, auctions, etc. There will also be food and information on pet adoptions.
General Event Admission: $3 per person. Under 5 FREE. Proceeds to benefit the Historic Village at Allaire and Rescue Ridge, aiding in the rescue of animals.

“Dining For Adoptables”, will be the first annual fundraised benfiting the Assoicated Humance Society which is a animal shelter in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

Registration is now open for the 15th Annual Riker Danzig 10K Race happening on May 5 in Newport. The beautiful, flat course takes runners through the bustling downtown Newport neighborhood, along the scenic Hudson River Waterfront Walkway with its spectacular views of the New York City skyline, and finally wraps up in the Newport Town Square. The event will feature raffles and giveaways from Newport hotspots, as well as refreshments from neighborhood vendors including NJ Beer Company, which will be serving post-race brews at Komegashi Too. Last year, close to 2,000 runners participated in the run, and this year’s race aims to raise over $5,000 for the area’s only not-for-profit hospital and regional trauma center, RWJ Barnabas Health Jersey City Medical Center. Nearly $16,000 will be given out in prize money to top runners in a range of categories. Register either for the Newport Double (which includes the 10K plus the Half-Marathon race in September) for $77, or for the 10K race alone, which costs $30 if you register by April 5 (and $33 after that until race day). The event will be held from 7:30pm – 11:30pm at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune, NJ. Festivities include a one-hour open bar, plated dinner, tricky tray, silent auction and 50/50 raffle, followed by a night of laughs, starring comedians Chris Monty and Rich Walker. All proceeds benefit Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue, whose mission is to ensure each and every dog they rescue becomes a stable pet and matched with their best forever home.
