Today, the range of voices hired has grown dramatically from the days of announcers. Learn what the pros look for, how to prepare, and where to find work in your area! We’ll discuss industry pros and cons and play samples from working voice professionals. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to record a short professional script under the direction of your instructor. This seminar is lots of fun, realistic, and a great first step for anyone interested in the voice over field.
Getting Paid To Talk is a two-hour upbeat and realistic introduction to voice-overs, also known as voice acting. During the seminar, your instructor will discuss:
The different types of voice-overs
What it’s like to work in the studio
Voice types that are in demand
Where to look for work opportunities close to you
Effective demo development and examples
Industry pros and cons
Everyone in the class will also have an opportunity to record a short Voice Over for playback at the end of class. Your instructor will also be more than happy to offer you some basic voice feedback at the completion of the class.

Join a Park System Naturalist for these laid-back morning bird walks. We’ll meander through the parks for about an hour to see what birds we can find. No need to be an expert at identifying birds to enjoy these walks. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow if needed.
Program is geared towards adults.
The Asbury Park Half Marathon starts and finishes in Asbury Park and runs through the iconic Jersey Shore towns or Interlaken, Allenhurst, Deal, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach and Avon by the Sea.
Run The Jersey Shore on April 21, 2018 to benefit Special Olympics of New Jersey and the Jersey Shore Dream Center.
The Asbury Park Half Marathon and Jersey Shore 5K will start at 8:30 am on Ocean Avenue in front of Convention Hall in Asbury Park.
The Jersey Shore Relay will have a staggered start in Seaside Heights.
In the interest of runner and volunteer safety, there will be a 5 hour and 30 minute cutoff time for all teams. Runners/Teams that do not pass relay transition areas by the below times will be instructed to leave the course and, if needed, transportation to the finish will be provided. If runners choose to proceed after being instructed to leave the course it will be at their own risk, support may not be available along the way and they will not be scored.

This parenting course is designed to help improve parents relationship and communication with their children. Topics include discipline, cooperation, respect, trust, encouragement, single parenting, anger management, drug abuse prevention, constructive criticism, and humor! Certificate awarded at completion of program. The STEP parenting program satisfies the requirements of some Family Court ordered cases. All materials provided are free of charge. Limited childcare will be provided.

“WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS: A STORY OF BROTHERHOOD, RESILIENCE & HOPE”
Teenagers and college students in the Temple Beth Ahm community (teens in Hebrew High School, USY, Religious School Aides, all other teen members of the synagogue), as well as throughout Monmouth & Middlesex County, are invited to commemorate Yom Ha-Zikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and celebrate Yom Ha-Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) by joining teens from 53 other organizations across 4 continents in this Global Screening Day, an international film screening and Instagram campaign that is being coordinated by Jerusalem U.
This film tells the story of Israeli soldiers, including the sacrifices they make that change the lives of their family members and others.
Participating teens will have access to a global social media campaign that enables students to connect with other Israel supporters around the world.
The event, which is free and open to all teens in the community, is co-sponsored by Temple Beth Ahm and the Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ.
