Annual baby crawling race for babies up to 15 months. The good-natured competition has challenged parents to leave their infant child in the center of a parachute spread out on the beach and has challenged the infants to crawl back to the perimeter of the parachute and the welcoming arms of their parents. Registration is free and begins at 8:30 am. The contest begins at 9 am.

Wanda Sykes has been called “one of the funniest stand-up comics” by her peers and ranks among Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Funniest People in America. Her smart-witted stand up has sent her career in many different areas.

Her work over the years included comedy that touched on politics, her personal life, and observational humor. Wanda has starred in numerous television comedy specials, on Comedy Central and HBO. Her latest comedy special, What Happened…. Ms. Sykes premiered in Fall 2016 on Epix.
Wanda has appeared in several films, like 2017’s Snatched with Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, Evan Almighty in which she co-starred with Steve Carell, and Monster-In-Law starring opposite Jane Fonda, to name a few. She can also be heard in animated movies like Over the Hedge and The Barnyard, and as “Granny” in the most recent Ice Age films.

Her first book titled Yeah, I Said It, published by Simon and Schuster, hit bookstores in September 2004.  Yeah, I Said It is a hilarious collection of essays touching on life, family and current events.

This event is being held TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30TH (get into the Halloween spirit while you’re there!) at the Asbury Park Brewery, located at 810 Sewall Ave. in Asbury Park, NJ.

Mike has appeared on Conan on TBS and Inside Amy Schumer and also appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and in two episodes of TruTV’s Comedy Knockout. In 2018, Mike appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon for a second time, did Montreal’s Just For Laughs for a third time and released his second comedy album, The Worst Kind of Thoughtful. Rodney Carrington is a multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer who recorded eight major record label comedy albums, which have sold millions of copies. Rodney then released three new albums on his own record label called Laughter’s Good Records. An album of new songs and material entitled Laughter’s Good debuted at Number One on the Overall Comedy Charts. The same week, the re-release of Rodney Carrington Live, C’mon Laugh You Bastards debuted at Number Two on the Overall Comedy Charts. He then went back into the studio to record The Hits which also reached number one on the comedy charts.  According to Pollstar, Rodney has been one of the top ten highest grossing touring comedians for the last ten years and among the top 5 the last several years. Rodney is on track to be in the top 5 again this year as he regularly performs to sold out crowds across the US, Canada, and even Australia.

Rodney’s popularity derives, in large part, from his connection with his audience, both at his live shows, and through social media. By the looks of his schedule, he shows no signs of slowing down!

Instructor, Gayle Stahlhuth, artistic director of East Lynne Theater Company, uses writing and simple acting exercises to trigger the writer’s imagination. The workshop is geared for those who have written plays, as well as those who have always wanted to try their hand at writing a play. Participants are encouraged to create short plays during the workshop.

Aside from performing, directing, and producing, Stahlhuth is also a produced playwright, who has received writing commissions from The Smithsonian Institution, Theatreworks/USA and The Illinois and Missouri Humanities Councils, and grants from The New Jersey Humanities Council.  Her plays have been performed at such places as the NYC International Fringe Festival, The Samuel French One-Act Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club, Arvada Center in Denver, the Pennsylvania Stage Company, the Phoenix Theater in Indianapolis, and the Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company, located in Cape May. She has taught playwriting to a variety of ages throughout the country at theaters, universities, libraries, public schools, and writing conferences. For several years, Gayle was a popular workshop leader at the now-disbanded North Wildwood Beach Writer’s Conference.

The spring production of the Department of Music and Theatre is Steel Magnolias, the touching comedy-drama by Robert Harling, directed by Dr. John Burke. The play visits six Louisiana women delicate as magnolia flowers, but tough as steel when they must be – as they gather in their small-town beauty parlor to gossip, complain, and share the joys and sorrows they face in their lives. Despite differences in age, backgrounds, and attitudes, their camaraderie and sense of humor help them grow through good times and bad.

The Police Athletic League of Cape May will hold its 14th annual Comedy Night Social.

The event will be held at the Cape May Convention Hall and will feature 3 headline comedians.

Best known for his viral video “Bread & Milk” nearing 17 million views on Youtube. This video has brought about a new wave of fans and followers for Vic both on social media and on the stand up comedy circuit. More recently he portrayed Gino Chizetti in the 2015 comedy film, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. Try not to laugh, smile or grin while watching comedian Vic DiBitetto.
