Mayra Betances is a New Jersey woman on a mission!  And she is asking for help from the Jersey Shore area.  Her request:  donate new or used children’s Halloween costumes to help less fortunate children in the Dominican Republic celebrate their country’s Independence Day and Carnival in costume.  Mayra’s organization Create Happy Moments will then pack up the costumes and ship them to the Dominican Republic in order to bring smiles to children’s faces.  It is tradition in her native country for children to dress up and parade for these festivities every February.  Mayra’s goal is to make sure every child who needs a costume gets one!
