The Power of Connections: 5 Things That REALLY Happen When Women Come Together in Support of Each Other

ETTWomen: Entrepreneurial Think Tank for Women
We met like many professionals do in the Jersey Shore, through networking.  And boy are there many networking events and groups to choose from! But we decided to disrupt the trend that we continued to see: business card exchanges, forceful referral ‘networking’ and despite clearly stating that we owned business, the persistent recruitment to explore new business opportunities.

We wanted more. We wanted ongoing education, camaraderie, clients (of course), but also a sense of community -a sisterhood.

When women come together in support of each other, here’s what REALLY happens:

  1. Collaboration is made easier by providing multiple networking opportunities through in-person local events and online communities. The events are like seeds that need planting to focus positive energy on the amazing work that is being done in our Jersey community, led by women.
  2. We Think Tank (masterminds) and target the operational, marketing and financial issues of getting a business to the next level, but we also focus on personal development. When you’re stuck in your personal life, your business can’t move forward efficiently. We need to build connections into our daily lives to live in harmony. Without sharing experiences and our stories, we are left to feel alone in dealing with life’s demands.
  3. By creating a dialogue to hear stories from one professional to another, we honor one another.
  4. Instinctively, women are nurturers and givers. Mentoring is in our DNA. By connecting women owned business to each other, we allow more opportunities for women to feel productive, lowering the states of isolation and depression many women live with.
  5. When women come together in community, we change the world. We learn to remove our masks and give each other permission to be who we are. We simply show up. And that’s a good thing  for everyone.

For the past four years Entrepreneurial Think Tank for Women (ETTWomen) has connected likeminded women to network, build relationships and to learn from and support each other. Our experiences and ideas include a range of topics from stress management to personal and professional development topics to the sharing of recipes, ETTWomen band together and show up for each other.

Our in-person and online communities consist of women with different backgrounds, education levels and work experiences. Our genuine drive is to see each other succeed.

“My ability to get through my day greatly depends on the relationship that I have with other women…We have to be able to champion other women. We have to root for each other’s successes and not delight in one another’s failures.” Michelle Obama, First Lady

People connect to people and the faster you can focus on connecting the dots between who you are and what you offer, the faster you can build mutually beneficial relationships that will bring business that serves you and your client. You can find that at ETTWomen.com.
