The seamless choreography in Phyllis Papa’s Romeo and Juliet vividly depicts the story’s passion, sorrow and vengeance, capturing the intense desire of the star-crossed lovers and the ceaseless feud between two family clans in beautiful Verona. Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s thrilling orchestral score, this dramatic ballet stays loyal to Shakespeare’s original tragic ending.

Idol and Stevens’ undeniable chemistry and seemingly limitless energy, founded on a mutual love of punk, rockabilly and dance music, has produced decades of successful tours and iconic hits including Rebel Yell, White Wedding, Dancing With Myself, Eyes Without A Face, Flesh For Fantasy, Cradle Of Love and more.

Billy Idol, together with Steve Stevens at his side, was an early architect of the sound, style, and fury of punk rock. His lip- curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into the mainstream as one of MTV’s first megastars, making him one of the most recognizable faces in pop music, while selling out arenas everywhere he played. He has sold 40 million albums while scoring numerous platinum albums worldwide, nine top forty singles in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K. including “Dancing With Myself, “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Mony Mony,” “Eyes Without A Face,” and “Flesh For Fantasy.”

Steve Stevens is one of the most versatile guitarists & songwriters to emerge from the 80s rock scene, with influences spanning from classic rock to flamenco. In addition to his legendary career with Billy Idol, Stevens has worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Michael Jackson to Robert Palmer, Joni Mitchell to Pink. Stevens won a Grammy Award for his work on “Top Gun Anthem” and his songs can be heard on countless soundtracks including “Once Upon A Time in Mexico” and “The Matrix” Trilogy.

Dance meets film meets virtual reality: Bridgman|Packer Dance will present Voyeur, their highly acclaimed work that received a 2017 New York Dance and Performance Award (The Bessies). Featuring choreographer/performers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer’s innovative work in “Video Partnering”—the integration of live performance and video technology— Voyeur is inspired by artist Edward Hopper’s world of color, light, perspective, and under-the-surface eroticism. Fragmented moments of private lives are witnessed through windows and doorways. As the performers merge and collide with the video imagery, the presence of a seen or unseen viewer lies at the heart of Voyeur. Voyeur will be paired with other work from Bridgman|Packer Dance’s repertory.

IN THE MOOD is a celebration of the music of the 1930s & 40s – the Big Band era. It was the last time that all Americans were listening and dancing to the same kind of music. With our live sensational 13 piece String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra and our fabulous IN THE MOOD Singers and Dancers, the great melodies and lyrics that are still with us today are presented in a musical revue that is jazzy, sentimental, rhythmic, nostalgic and patriotic – all happening at the same time. With music arrangements, costumes and choreography IN THE MOOD is as authentic as it gets.

Come anytime between 9-noon and stay as long as you want. Help our community, marine life, and beaches by picking up trash and making them ready for those sunny summer days. All ages welcome, be sure to bring some gloves. When you arrive you will be given black bags for trash and white for recyclables, as well as data cards to track what kind of trash you pick up.

The Shore Showdown Cheer, Dance and Individual Competition is held April 13th at the Wildwood Convention Center.  The boardwalk is open and the rides are waiting for you!  Compete and spend the day on the beach.  PLUS don’t forget that night is the Stunt & Individual Competition for this and the Beast of the East Competitors! All School, Rec, JV, High School, All Star, Dance, All Star Prep teams welcome. Banners to divisions winners and trophies to all teams and all places.

On April 13th, Warhorse SCUBA will run their first “Urban Scavenger Hunt”, a town-wide scavenger hunt through the town of Belmar, New Jersey! You can join as an individula or as a team of you and your friends (2-6 people max) to compete against others to gather pictures of you objectives, and complete puzzles to reach the finish line! This is a family friendly event will take teams all over the town, to complete the obstacles and riddles to reach the finish line! The entrance fee is $25 per person – this will give each participant a FREE event T-shirt and a FREE beer/soda at our ending location – The Beach Haus Brewery!!! This fee is due at sign up to guarantee an event T shirt

Ocean City presents the Mr. Mature America Pageant for Men 55 years and older, first event of its kind in the United States. Contestants compete in talent, poise & interview categories. Come to Monmouth Museum to see physical therapist Yaffa Liebermann present “I Stand up Straight”. “I Stand up Straight” is a fun and educational picture book that teaches children correct posture through a memorable poem, beautiful illustrations, and easy to follow children exercises. Space is limited with only a 25 person maximum capacity.

Children ages 7 and up are welcome to come to Monmouth Museum for a fun interactive hour of science and learning. Chaperones are required to attend and booking sessions max out after 10!

Feel inspired and touched as artists produce a dance worth trending. Discover many forms of dance in collaboration with Student Scholarship Week. Artists from the spring dance classes and dance teams of our Monmouth University will present their understanding of the diverse world of dancing. Performances will feature the choreographic exploration of the students and the faculty!

This show was originally scheduled for April 7th all tickets for the original date will be honored on April 18, 2019 at 7:30pm. Refunds will be offered until February 1st.

Fans will journey through a true fusion of dance and music, as Derek explores styles ranging from ballroom and tap to salsa and hop-hop and everything in between. Creative team and two-time EMMY® winners, Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo, also known as NappyTabs (Jennifer Lopez: All I Have Residency; Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour; GRAMMYs® creative direction), will co-create, direct and supervise choreography for the tour.

Come see author Sarah A. Long  present her book,  “Colors Of The City”. A craft event based off of the book will be held after presentations. Sarah will stick around after the event for any questions.

Wildwoods Convention Center. Cummins School of Irish Dance presents Feis at the Beach. Doors open at 9 a.m.; Irish dance competitions are 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The competitions will include over 1,300 dancers of all ages and expertise. Feis will be choreographed to music and prizes will be awarded. A number of vendors will be displaying and selling many Irish products. FREE admission! Join author and environmental advocate, Maya van Rossum for her discussion of The Green Amendment: Securing Our Right to a Healthy Environment. Van Rossum’s book displays a new proposal for environmental legislation and was selected as the 2018 Living Now Evergreen Awards GOLD Winner in the Nature Conservation category.
