Help for people living with disabilities—thanks to a new partnership between Jersey Central Power and Light and Advancing Opportunities, Inc. JCP&L has donated $10,000 to help install smart home technology at its new group home in Jackson—Ocean County. Advancing Opportunities serves New Jersey’s disabled community by providing assistive technology services and residential programs.  This is the first time such equipment has been installed at one of its residences in New Jersey. Their mission is to promote independence in community settings for people living with disabilities.  They hope to take what they learn from this smart home pilot program in Jackson—and help others they serve throughout the state. In addition to the smart home technology—JCP&L is also spreading holiday cheer to its residents.  The power company donated and installed holiday lights to help brighten the new home.
